Blessed!

Then you shall declare before the Lord your God: “My father was a wandering Aramean, and he went down into Egypt with a few people and lived there and became a great nation, powerful and numerous.” Deuteronomy 25:5

Once they had settled in the land and harvested crops from the fields and vineyards, God’s people were to give back to God the “firstfruits” of the harvest. And when they did they were to remember who they had once been and who God had made them to be. Sometimes I foolishly look at my offering as my kind gesture or a show of my commitment to him. I do better to put my offering in the plate and remember how much God has changed my life and all the blessings He pours out on me. My offering is not about me; it is about him and his tremendous love for me. Thank you, God. I am grateful and blessed beyond measure.
