Blessing & Responsibility

1 Corinthians 6-7, Proverbs 22

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. I Corinthians 6:19-20

It is an amazing blessing to have God living inside of me. You see, the temple was the place where people could see that God was with them. It marked the presence of God. But with that blessing also comes responsibility. It is by my life that people have opportunity to see the glory of God. When I dishonor God I bring shame to His name. St. Paul wrote these words in the context of a discussion on sexual morality, but it applies to every aspect of life. You and I are blessed – may our choices today bring honor to Him who has given us so much.
