Bragging Rights-Part 1

If someone else thinks they have reasons to put confidence in the flesh, I have more. Philippians 3:4

Aaron Rodgers (NFL quarterback) recently spoke out against the Christian faith. One thing he said that struck me was, “Religion can be a crutch, it can be something that people have to have to make themselves feel better.” If we give the perception that the church is for weak people – shame on us.

St. Paul argued that he had more to brag about than others. He had a more education, greater influence and a better resume. Still Paul said that if he was going to brag, it would be about Jesus. I would love to have a conversation with Rodgers about Jesus and debunk some of his ideas, but I probably won’t have that chance. You and I will see people today—let’s brag on Jesus, not because we are weak but because he has given us a much greater strength.
