Building Others Up

Isaiah 54-57, Ephesians 4:17-e

Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. Ephesians 4:29

I appreciate how Isaiah speaks of God’s grace that he may cause suffering for a moment—but he will again make us strong. I like the fact that God forgives, but the point of faith is not that I sin again and again so God can forgive. The point of faith is that my life is different because Jesus lives in me. I am not who I used to be. I now live to make the lives of those around me better. I have something to offer because God lives in me. Let’s speak today only that which will help – there are enough people tearing others down. Make this a good day for someone else.
