Citizenship

The Lord your God will circumcise your hearts and the hearts of your descendants, so that you may love him with all your heart and with all your soul, and live. Deuteronomy 30:6

I have prayed this morning already for the elections today to turn out in such a way that this nation would come together in a time when there is tremendous division. I do so in a detached way though. I have been marked with this circumcision (my baptism) God speaks of. I belong to God. As St. Paul writes, our citizenship is in heaven (Phil. 3). I love this nation and I will fight for what is best for tis land, but my first love is Jesus. My hope is in Jesus. My identity is in Jesus. I will fight for that with my whole heart, because I know that is what Jesus has done for me. May that thought bring blessing to your day.
