For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality and accepts no bribes. He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the foreigner residing among you, giving them food and clothing. Deuteronomy 10:17-18
Moses points out the greatness of God, and in the same breath, describes that greatness in God’s love for those easily forgotten – orphans, widows and immigrants. The wonder of God is not his power (he created everything so we should not question his power) but that he would use his power for the helpless. Remember that the next time you feel helpless—or see someone else who fits that description.
