Critical Reminder

For I know how rebellious and stiff-necked you are. If you have been rebellious against the Lord while I am still alive and with you, how much more will you rebel after I die! Deuteronomy 31:27

Some words of encouragement! I guess you would have to say Moses knew his audience. I guess there is a time to remind people that they have always sinned and will always go back to sin. Yet, Moses did not speak those words in condemnation. He spoke them to make his people realize their only chance for success lay in the mercy of God. I can make a vow to obey God, but I know I won’t keep it. I rely on God’s grace every day. That is the only hope I have—but it is a rock solid, sure hope that lasts for all of eternity. He is your only hope too, because you are no better than the Israelites or me. We need a Savior. We have the perfect one in Jesus! Praise God!!!
