Danger of Distractions

Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds. Deuteronomy 11:18

Our biggest danger is not usually rejection of what God says, it is that we get distracted and forget what he says. There are many things that catch our eye. It may be some project in the house, a new hobby, friends, etc. So I skip worship once, then a few more times. I don’t have time to read the Bible in the morning, then I forget. I get so caught up in whether there will be major league baseball, I forget I forget to have the conversation with my neighbor about Jesus. Moses reminded the people many times—don’t forget. Stay on target. Remember all God has done for you and all he calls for you to do. And if you think it would never happen to you, remember the third generation after Moses came along who had no idea who God was—much less what he had said (Judges 2:10).
