Faith Acts That Point to Jesus

Truly I tell you, wherever the gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told, in memory of her.” Mark 14:9

This woman had anointed Jesus’ head with very expensive perfume which caused the dignitaries at the meal to criticize her. Jesus honored her action as one that would always be remembered as a beautiful act of faith. This is in contrast to Peter’s bold statement that he would stand by Jesus (then several hours later denied knowing him). Talk is cheap but acts of love that seek to honor Jesus are powerful. Faith that points to OUR commitment is futile; but faith that acts to honor the one who died for us is precious. Live out your faith today—honor Jesus.
