In the early days of your acquaintance with the gospel, when I set out from Macedonia, not one church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving, except you only; for even when I was in Thessalonica, you sent me aid more than once when I was in need. Philippians 4:15-16

Paul’s gratitude is not (I think) for the support the Philippian Christians had given him, rather it is that they would support him. What we need is to know there are people who will stand with us. God can, and does, provide for all our needs. The joy of life is to see the people he often uses to do so. Celebrate those who stand by you. Even more, be intentional today as you actively stand by someone who might find themselves feeling all alone. This is the gift God has given to us in Jesus—community!
