Give It Up (Control, that is)

Very early in the morning, the chief priests, with the elders, the teachers of the law and the whole Sanhedrin, made their plans. So they bound Jesus, led him away and handed him over to Pilate.

Mark 15:1

They were trying to protect their status and pride; Jesus was out to save the world. Their desperation led to an illegal trial and asking a man they hated, Pilate, for help. Roman law had taken away their authority to have someone put someone to death. Because Jesus allowed them to follow their path, his path became our hope. His death has taught us we don’t need to be afraid and we can trust Jesus. Our status flows from His forgiveness and grace. Thank you Jesus for all you have done to save me. Help me to trust you in all things. AMEN.
