God Provides

Her husband’s brother shall take her and marry her and fulfill the duty of a brother-in-law to her. The first son she bears shall carry on the name of the dead brother so that his name will not be blotted out from Israel. Deuteronomy 25:5-6

God amazes me at how he provides for those who suffer the effects of this sinful world. It is called levirate marriage. If a husband died but there were no sons, his widow would marry his oldest brother. This would provide for the widow and the continued line of his deceased brother. She would still be in the family and their son would be considered as the son of the deceased. That son would carry on his father’s name and provide for his mother. I love how God takes care of every detail. May you know that he is taking care of you.
