One of the dangers of being a Christian a long time is to lose the sense of wonder and awe of God. It was typical (in Jesus’ time) for Jewish people to refer to the Messiah as the son of David. The Bible says he would be a descendent of King David. While that is true, David has also spoken of the Messiah as his “Lord.” (see vs.25 & Psalm 110::1) Jesus is both and that is testimony to the wonder of God. Jesus was there at creation and yet he was born in Bethlehem. I pray I will never lose this sense of wonder when I think of God. I can worship him, but I will NEVER understand him. Praise God!
