Jesus Had to Do This Alone

Esther 5-10, Matthew 27:45-e

Many women were there, watching from a distance. They had followed Jesus from Galilee to care for his needs. Matthew 27:55

I believe women were there at the birth of Jesus to help Mary and her newborn. There were women who travelled with Jesus to “care for his needs.” Now those same women stood at a distance. There was nothing they could do for him as he hung from the cross with the weight of the world on his shoulders. He carried the weight of their sin on his shoulders. In his death he met their needs – he met your needs. This is our Savior. Praise God.
