Leave it to God

God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. II Thessalonians 1:6-7


I have wasted way too much time in my life trying to figure out who needs to be put in their place and how. I have envisioned punishments and how those punished would hurt – how they would see the ways they had wronged me (in moments of self-righteousness – how they had hurt the church). As I look back I realize there was no way I could love such people as I dreamed of their demise. I was wrong. God will take care of making things right. His first act to do so was to die on the cross to restore the lost, not punish them. Father, help me to love today and to leave judgment to you. AMEN.
