Loved and Kept

Jude, a servant of Jesus Christ and a brother of James, to those who have been called, who are loved in God the Father and kept for Jesus Christ: Jude 1:1

The book of Jude is just one chapter in length, but contains great truths. It is written as an encouragement to Christians. There is no greater encouragement than to remember that you are “loved in God the Father” and “kept for Jesus Christ.” Forget about all the “things” you might want in life; consider what you have. In God’s love for you he has promised to forever protect (keep) you. And how does he do that? He does so by holding you in the protective shadow of Jesus. Jesus is the one who both shows you the greatest joys of life AND protects you from the power of Satan who wants to destroy you. And while Satan has the power to destroy you – because Jesus lives in you he cannot touch you. Jesus defeated him at the cross. Praise God!
