Nothing Else Matters if . . .

May he strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones. I Thessalonians 3:13

Nothing else matters if we don’t get this one right. If I don’t live in a healthy relationship with God—I am unable to love (vs. 12). If I cannot love, then I have no real relationship with anyone and will live a lonely life (no matter how many people are around me). But if we get it right with God—then everything else falls into place. God provides. God satisfies. God pours out blessing. Paul wrote of this truth even when he wrote from within prison walls. Sometimes it is only when we face adversity that we realize how true it is—when I live in the arms of Jesus, nothing else matters. No wonder there is such joy as we prepare to celebrate his birth.
