Our Over Generous God

Luke 5:27-7:10, Proverbs 11

Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Luke 6:38

Jesus not only forgives, he teaches us of life. The temptation is to hold on to things to make sure we have enough for ourselves. Jesus invites us to trust him and give freely to others. He promises to give to us in the same way as we give to others. If we hold back – he will hold back. If we give joyfully and freely, so will he. There is one difference. Jesus has much more to give than we do. That is how we become rich when we learn to live generously.
