If you come across a bird’s nest beside the road, either in a tree or on the ground, and the mother is sitting on the young or on the eggs, do not take the mother with the young. You may take the young, but be sure to let the mother go, so that it may go well with you and you may have a long life. Deuteronomy 22:6-7
I have in mind God protecting the birds still in the eggs. If the mother is taken they would die. Granted, taking an egg from the nest was OK with God, but still I love the image of his not wanting the eggs to be without protection, without a parent. God values the life within those eggs; He values you and me more. That is what Jesus said, and that is why Jesus died – so you and I would never be without a protector. God is watching over you himself. How does that feel? Have a great day!
