Our Wealth -- Jesus!

The Levitical priests—indeed, the whole tribe of Levi—are to have no allotment or inheritance with Israel. . . the Lord is their inheritance, as he promised them. Deuteronomy 18:1-2

As a pastor I have a salary – things have changed. I don’t know that they are for the best. The Levites lived off the offerings people brought in and always had a place to live. Things changed because people were not always so generous in providing for their pastors, but things also changed as pastors wanted more. They (we) sought to protect our own interests. Lives on in all of us and thus things change. God never changes. When we pause to consider life, God is still our “inheritance” – for pastors and all people. Jesus would remind us today that we can turn to him (24/7) and he will provide. He still freely gives grace, hope, love, and every material thing we will need. We are rich. May we live as rich people today!
