Positive Outlook on Life

January 1, 2020

Philippians 1:1-9 (This week I am reading these 9 verses every day and asking God to open up some gem in these passages each day so I might explore His Word more deeply.)

I thank my God every time I remember you. Philippians 1:3

I know some of you are praying 2020 is better than 2019. There are some periods in our lives that are challenging. But there is a way to look on the past with gratitude – that is to see how God has used the past to bless you. That is how St. Paul was able to look at everyone in his past and thank God. Sometimes those blessings are fond memories, other times they are times that made us stronger. Look back on 2019 and every person who has been in your life this past year. Find the ways God has used those situations/people to make you’re a better person. Now look to 2020 with confidence because God promises to carry you through it and to bring blessing along the way. And when the first challenge comes along ask God how he would have you to grow stronger by it. Happy New Year!
