Questions

Those who went ahead and those who followed shouted, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” Mark 11:9

I appreciate Mark chapter 11 because it reminds me that I, like the rest of you, usually don’t understand what Jesus is doing or why – but still we praise him. People who shouted, “Hosanna!” on that day did not understand that Jesus would die on the cross that week. The disciples did not understand why Jesus cursed the fig tree or cleared out the business section on the Temple. I think that is alright as long as we don’t think we understand. I want to be a person of questions who daily asks God to help me understand. When we ask, “Why, God?” may it not be a complaint but part of our research into knowing the heart of God. Ask some good questions today – even as you praise God’s Holy name!
