Still Learning

They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!” Mark 4:41

Mark chapter four is filled with stories told by Jesus, then he calms the storm that terrified his disciples in their boat. And that miracle terrified them because they saw his power but still did not know his heart. Why do I read the Bible? Is it to be a better Christian? Kind of – but no. I read the Bible because I still struggle to know the heart of Jesus. He said earlier in the chapter (vs.11) that secret of the kingdom had been given to them. We have that secret (that grace drives Jesus) but I still struggle to grasp it – just as the disciples did. So keep reading, keep exploring Jesus, but always stay close to him. Don’t ever think your relationship with Jesus does not matter. It is everything.
