The Wonder of God

Jeremiah 49, Habakkuk 1-2, Matthew 8:1-17

The Lord is in his holy temple; let all the earth be silent before him. Habakkuk 2:20

Jeremiah spoke of God’s destroying different nations. Habakkuk is told by God how the Babylonians will bring God’s people to their knees. The power of God brings us to our knees when we realize what he can do—and how easily he can do it. His power can silence the whole world. Yet there is a greater power that we see in God when Jesus takes on our guilt (Mat.8:17) and Jesus sacrifices himself so we might enjoy all of God’s blessing. Jesus was punished so we might be set free. God, you are amazing. Thank you.
