Trading Places

Jeremiah 33, 34, 38, Matthew 17:22-18:6

Jesus said to them, “The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men. 23 They will kill him, and on the third day he will be raised to life.” Matthew 17:22

God has said many harsh things throughout history, but he always speaks them in love. Sometimes we wonder about his continued warnings of gloom and doom in the Old Testament, but then I see Jesus speaking gloom and doom on himself. I have come to see that we deserve whatever God brings our way, but Jesus has suffered the punishment that was ours. We are spared because Jesus took our place. For this reason we have hope. Because of Jesus God speaks to us of life and heaven. Thank you God!
