You must not worship the Lord your God in their way. Deuteronomy 12:4
Go to a city where Islam is the way and you will find it to be different. The places of prayer are different, the loud speakers across the city calling people to prayer are different and the way people worship their god is different. Moses was preparing the people to take possession of a land that had some different gods and one critical component to their success would be to keep their worship of Jehovah God pure. They would be tempted to mix and match. There is some wisdom in this for us. The Christian faith has always been marked by congregations who worship, read God’s Word, socialize, and serve together. Our culture promotes a spirituality that does not call for any of those three. Our culture has made the individual the centerpiece. Don’t “worship the Lord your God in their way.”
