Unwavering Hope

Habakkuk 3, Daniel 1-2, Matthew 8:18-e

Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. Habakkuk 3:17-18

I love this passage that speaks of trust in God when there is no physical evidence that God should be trusted. It is a trust that believes God will provide – even when everything is taken away. The disciples had no reason to fear in the storm (M.att.8) because Jesus was there. Rejoice in God’s promise (sealed in the blood of Jesus) that he will always take care of you.
