We instructed you how to live in order to please God, as in fact you are living. Now we ask you and urge you in the Lord Jesus to do this more and more. I Thessalonians 4:1
Work harder to be faithful to God. Twice in this chapter St. Paul urges the people to live out their faith “more and more.” Don’t look at this as somehow saying you have to prove yourself to God. It is more of a call to recognize that one of Satan’s greatest temptations in our lives is to take our relationship with God for granted. He wants you and me to think as if the faith we have – we will always have. Thus the temptation to focus on other things in our lives like having fun or working to improve our financial situation. Losing your focus in walking God’s path for your life is one of the most dangerous things you can do. Listen to God’s voice today, serve him faithfully. This is not only your greatest joy; it could help bring someone else from darkness to light. Make the most of today!
