Worth it?

While he was in Bethany, reclining at the table in the home of Simon the Leper, a woman came with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, made of pure nard. She broke the jar and poured the perfume on his head. Mark 14:3

Was it worth it? Many times I have spent money and then wondered if it was worth it. I am the kind of person who looks for value. A woman poured a year’s wages on Jesus’ head. Was it worth it? I think the best answer is that when it comes to Jesus the question should not be asked. The wonder of worship is that Jesus is so wonderful that to ask the question dishonors him. But if I must ask it, then I should recall that Jesus has provided for my every need throughout my life and will always provide. I MUST remember that he sacrificed his life to redeem mine. He suffered hell so I might enjoy heaven. I am so glad Jesus did not ask that question as he went to the cross.
