Angels Can Still Startle

Luke 1, Psalms 1, 4, 5

The angel said to him: “Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son. Luke 1:13

We pray for God to make himself known to us because life scares us, then when an angel appears to Zechariah – he is terrified! “Do not be afraid,” is a repeated opener for angels and for Jesus. I don’t know what my reaction would be if an angel were to appear to me today, but I would like to think that because of Jesus I would not be scared. And I pray that I will live looking for God to speak to me. I don’t want to be surprised—just fall to me knees in wonder. Have a great day!
