Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers and sisters, not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by the teaching allegedly from us—whether by a prophecy or by word of mouth or by letter—asserting that the day of the Lord has already come. II Thessalonians 2:1-2
Everyone has opinions about when this world will end; no one has a clue as to when that will happen. Some had used Paul’s first letter to the Thessalonians to say people should stop everything they were doing because Jesus was coming very soon. Jesus will come when he comes. It is not for us to wonder when; it is for us to keep reaching out to people in love. If you want to prepare for His return, tell someone about Jesus so they too might believe.
