God Election Plans

When you enter the land the Lord your God is giving you and have taken possession of it and settled in it, and you say, “Let us set a king over us like all the nations around us,” be sure to appoint over you a king the Lord your God chooses. Deuteronomy 17:14-15

I should have considered this passage yesterday to coincide with the primary election. The Israelites did not need a king. God was doing just fine with Moses leading them, but God knows us. We see what others have and “think” we want the same thing. So God’s caution was that when they would want a king they would appoint the one God chose for them. How is that done? It begins with prayer long before you enter the voting booth. It is a prayer for the person God wants to hold that position to rise to the top in the primaries and that you would recognize (in the short list) the one of his choosing. Can it work? Of course it does – God IS THAT GOOD!
