Grasp the Significant

Luke 10:1-11:36, Psalms 20, 21, 33

As Jesus was saying these things, a woman in the crowd called out, “Blessed is the mother who gave you birth and nursed you.”

He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.” Luke 11:27-28

We are often impressed by the trivial. I saw where the outfit Olivia Newton-John wore for Grease is for sale. This piece of old clothing will make a lot of money. Meanwhile someone will die and go to hell today because none of us who are Christian thought to tell them about Jesus. The joy of experiencing grace is so much more than owning Newton-John’s tight leather pants. A women thought how awesome it was for Mary to be Jesus’ mother. Jesus said the greater blessing is to “hear the word of God and obey it.” (Father, may my life reflect your Spirit working in me to bring glory to your holy name.) I am blessed!
