Hypocrisy! Yuck!!!

Ezekiel 43-45, Matthew 23:23-e

On the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness. Matthew 23:28

Jesus spoke these words to church leaders who were more concerned with how people saw them than how God saw them. They were hypocrites. I have heard more than a few people say they avoid the church because of the hypocrites within it. That is too bad. We all have a bit of hypocrisy in us. Let us learn what the church is meant to be—sinful people coming humbly before God to lay before him our sins (and we all have them) that God might pour out his grace on us. Jesus spoke of being clean on the inside—that is what grace does. Let God make your insides beautiful—and our outer appearance will be just fine.
