Look Within for Peace

Revelations 1-2, Psalms 120-122

To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father—to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen. Revelation 1:5b-6

In the introduction of a letter meant to calm people of the faith who are undergoing persecution for that faith, the writer (John) reminds us of what we have—forgiveness, freedom from the sin and guilt that rages war within us. No matter what we face in the world around us, we have cause for joy. God has given us peace within. This is what Jesus came to give us. This is why his birth means so much to us. Have a great day!
