Hosea 11-14, Amos 1, II Peter 1:1-11

Updated: Jul 9, 2019

When I fed them, they were satisfied; when they were satisfied, they became proud; then they forgot me. Hosea 13:6

We so often turn to God in troubles. That is a good thing unless you come to see God as a tool to use when you think you “need” him and to be forgotten when you don’t. Hosea said that the people forgot God when things were good because they foolishly thought success was their doing. There is the temptation to see only the outward blessings of God. His greatest gift to us is that He has healed our souls. Peter wrote that when we forget the wonder of forgiveness we become “nearsighted and blind.” Don’t fall into that trap. May you always see the wonder of God working within you.
