No Words Can Describe

1 Timothy 4-6, Psalm 104

Lord my God, you are very great; you are clothed with splendor and majesty. Psalm 104:1

Sometimes I forget how big God is. The psalms help me to see how little I understand. I realize this when I struggle to find word to praise God. The psalmist had no problem. God is “clothed with splendor and majesty.” He “rides on the wings of the wind.” It is God who “set the earth on its foundations.” I think the greatest praise is that such a glorious God looked down on us in compassion and sacrificed His own son to give us life.

Lord, forgive me when I fail to fall to me knees at the thought of you. Open my eyes to see your glory and my mouth to sing your praise. AMEN.
