Peace in the Storm

jheimsoth

Acts 7:1-8:13, Psalms 55, 58

“Look,” he said, “I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.” Acts 7:56

A dear friend of mine died two days ago of cancer. The last time I visited her she spoke of heaven and peace that God had given her—not cancer. Stephen was tried and judged by a mob because they were jealous. Their next move was to drag him out of the city to stone him. Yet in the middle of all that God allowed him to see heaven and experience peace. I praise God that in the middle of the storm, he lifts his children up to see (and experience) peace and victory. Both of these individuals were facing death, but before God welcomed them home in heaven, he gave them the gift to experience heaven’s peace. Don’t be afraid. Trust God for what lies ahead
