We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing. I Thessalonians 1:3
The older I get the more I realize how much I am blessed by the people around me. I understand why Paul thanks God for the Christians of Thessalonica. He saw God at work in their lives as he saw their love for one another growing. What he saw was God’s plan working—that in Jesus people would come together as one. My greatest joy as a pastor is to see people reaching out to one another in love. My greatest frustration is when the opportunity to reach out is given and that invitation is ignored. Dear Jesus, may I rejoice to reach out to the “least of these.” Amen.
