Serious Stuff

That prophet or dreamer must be put to death for inciting rebellion against the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt and redeemed you from the land of slavery. Deuteronomy 13:5

Why is God so harsh? Why does he call for the death of those who try to lead his people to worship some other god? The answer is simple. If the Israelites were to lose sight of the God who had saved them from slavery in Egypt and chase after some god (that really isn’t a god at all) they would die. It was/is that serious. Have children/grandchildren who have “wandered” from God? It is time to take seriously declines in the church. It begins with me as I “fear, love, and trust in God above all things.”
