Take Passing on the Faith to Heart

These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Deuteronomy 6:6-7a

My faith has always been the driving force of my life. I just figured that it would be the driving force of my children’s lives. It seems natural, but the Christian life is not natural. I learned along the way that I have to be intentional about “impressing” the faith on my children—even as they are now adults. They not only need to see me live the faith, I need to show them my heart of faith. The danger is that if I don’t speak with my children about the faith, they will only see my devotion to a church. I want them to see my love for Jesus—and HIS love for them. Please, take this to heart.
