Thanks, I Needed That

He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna. Deuteronomy 8:3

Why would God “cause” his people to be hungry? For me the answer is easy. There have been too many times in my life where success brought pride. In those moments I forgot it was God who provided that success. I thought it was me and how good I was. God has made me to be “hungry” a few times in my life. In those lean times I came to realize how much I need him. I am learning of his great love for me no matter how foolish I am sometimes. I am blessed—not by all God has given to me (and he has given me much), but by his loving presence. I love to begin the day listening to his voice and to know I am not alone. I thank God for those times he has brought me to my knees for it is there that I have come to see him more clearly. We are blessed!
