Why this is GOOD Friday

With a loud cry, Jesus breathed his last. The curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. Mark 15:37-38

The death of Jesus was accompanied by different phenomena as nature cried out at the death of the creator. The sky turned dark and the ground shook. Those point us to the hideous nature of what was happening. But tearing of the curtain in the Temple was God’s showing us the beauty of this moment. That curtain had separated people from the room that marked God’s presence, the Holy of Holies. In the death of Jesus, God has opened the door for each of us to come to him in the name of Jesus. By Jesus’ death we are able to call God, Father, and know that we are always heard. I thank God for this torn curtain showing the power of Jesus’ sacrifice for me. No wonder we call this GOOD Friday. May you know this love of your heavenly Father. AMEN!
