Work Hard but with Peace of Mind

2 Thessalonians 1-3, Proverbs 21

The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the Lord. Proverbs 21:31

God’s wisdom usually makes sense for all people, but this one is an insider proverb. It calls for us to work hard to make sure we are prepared to do our best in battle (or any situation). The proverb then goes on to say that it is still God who provides victory. Unfortunately, there are times I have given less than my best – and blamed God for failure. It is a wonderful balance in the faith to work hard but let responsibility for success rest with God. What battles are you preparing for today—give it your best!
